How Do I Qualify for Funding?

To qualify for tools, materials, or project funding from Skills Support Foundation, applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Be located in the United States (we currently focus on domestic programs).
  • Be actively involved in a recognized trade or vocational field (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, mechatronics, HVAC, construction, or related skilled trades).
  • Be one of the following:
    • A student is currently enrolled in a career center, technical college, vocational program, or apprenticeship.
    • An instructor or program coordinator at a career center, technical school, or community college trades program.
    • A current tradesperson working on a training, community, competition, or professional development project.
  • Demonstrate a clear, specific need for tools, materials, or funding that directly supports hands-on learning, skill-building, or quality work.
  • Agree to use requested resources only for the approved purpose and allow follow-up verification (photos, updates, or site visit if needed).

What We Prioritize

To stay focused and compliant, we are unable to support:

  • General operating expenses or salaries
  • For-profit businesses or personal commercial projects
  • Requests outside the United States
  • Items not directly related to trades skill-building or work
  • Retroactive funding for already-completed purchases
